Nuvaroc: From Fragmented Products to One Clear Brand
Innovative Products and Systems (IPS) had strong material expertise, but the brand did not reflect its engineering depth, growing product range or future ambition.
The old name lacked distinction. Products were understood in fragments, sales and digital communication had no clear organising system, and internal teams found the expanding portfolio difficult to navigate consistently.
Working closely with the business, 9Point Design helped reposition IPS as Nuvaroc, a modern materials-engineering brand built around safer, stronger and more sustainable structures. We developed the new name, positioning, visual identity and colour system. We also brought more than 50 products into four clear solution systems: Nuvaroc Build, Protect, Repair and Finish.
The result was a more distinctive brand outside and greater clarity inside, with one scalable system for product, sales, digital and marketing communication.
Because growth becomes harder when the business has to keep explaining itself differently.
Our brand strategy work revealed:
- Deep material expertise hidden behind a generic identity
- Products perceived separately rather than as one engineered system
- Innovation ambition without distinctive market recall
- No clear architecture for an expanding product portfolio
- A purpose rooted in safer, healthier and longer-lasting structures
- A need for clearer sales, marketing and digital communication
Scope: Brand Strategy, Brand Positioning, Brand Naming, Brand Purpose, Value Proposition, Brand Identity, Logo Design, Colour System, Typography, Sub-brand Architecture, Product Portfolio Architecture, Brand Guidelines
Client: Nuvaroc, formerly Innovative Products and Solutions
Industry: Construction Chemicals and Engineered Building Material Systems
Giving the brand a system before giving it scale.
Strategy, identity and architecture were codified so Nuvaroc could grow without losing clarity.
Engineering logic, built into the identity.
A modular visual language translated structure, precision and system-based thinking into stronger brand recall.

Colour with a job to do.
A disciplined palette strengthened the master brand while giving each solution family its own clear cue.

50+ products. Four systems. One clearer brand.
Build, Protect, Repair and Finish turned a fragmented portfolio into a structure easier to understand, sell and grow.
Technical without becoming cold.
Inter gave Nuvaroc a clear, modern voice that stays legible across sales, digital and everyday brand communication.
A brand system that survives the real world.
From stationery to safety gear and site graphics, the identity was designed to stay consistent wherever the business shows up.

Built to be recognised at full scale.
The identity was designed to hold its own across vehicles, hoardings and large-format construction environments.

QUESTIONS WORTH ASKING BEFORE YOU REBRAND
When does a B2B company need a rebrand rather than a logo refresh?
A logo refresh makes sense when the business strategy, positioning and offer are still clear, but the visual identity feels dated or inconsistent.
A rebrand becomes more relevant when the problem runs deeper: the business has changed, the portfolio has expanded, teams explain the company differently, or the existing identity no longer reflects what the company has become.
Nuvaroc was one such case. The work needed to address positioning, naming, product structure and identity together.
What is brand architecture, and when does a B2B business need it?
Brand architecture defines how a company, its products, services and sub-brands fit together.
It becomes especially important as a B2B portfolio grows. Without clear architecture, buyers may struggle to understand the offer, sales teams spend more time explaining it, and new products get added without an obvious place to belong.
For Nuvaroc, four solution systems created a structure that could accommodate the existing portfolio while providing a logical place for future products.
How do you rebrand a technical business without losing credibility?
Start with what already makes the business credible.
Technical B2B companies rarely need branding that makes them appear more fashionable. They need an identity and message system that makes expertise easier to understand, recognise and navigate.
Nuvaroc’s engineering depth therefore became part of the strategic and visual logic of the brand. The objective was to make a complex materials-engineering business clearer and more distinctive without making it feel less technical.
Can a rebrand improve internal clarity as well as market perception?
Yes. Some brand problems become visible internally before customers ever notice them.
If leadership, sales and marketing categorise products differently or explain the offer in different ways, the issue is bigger than external communication. A well-designed brand system can give teams a shared structure and language.
For Nuvaroc, organising more than 50 products into Build, Protect, Repair and Finish created a clearer system for the business as well as the market.
What should a B2B rebrand include beyond a new logo?
That depends on the problem being solved.
A strategic rebrand can involve positioning, naming, purpose, value proposition, brand architecture, messaging, visual identity, colour, typography and guidelines. It may also need to consider how the brand works across sales, digital, packaging, presentations and physical environments.
For Nuvaroc, changing the appearance without resolving the fragmented portfolio and positioning would have solved only part of the problem.
What did 9Point Design do for the IPS to Nuvaroc rebrand?
9Point Design worked with the business to reposition Innovative Products and Systems as Nuvaroc.
The work included brand strategy, positioning, naming, purpose, value proposition, visual identity, logo design, colour and typography systems, sub-brand architecture, product portfolio architecture and brand guidelines.
More than 50 products were organised into four solution systems: Nuvaroc Build, Protect, Repair and Finish. This created one clearer system for internal teams, sales, marketing and future brand communication.
